Lyon name former player Fabio Grosso as new head coach

Lyon have named Fabio Grosso as their new head coach.

The French giants sacked Laurent Blanc earlier this week after he oversaw their disastrous start to the Ligue 1 season.

Lyon are currently bottom of the table having drawn one and lost three of their opening four games.

But they have turned to the relatively inexperienced Grosso to turn the ship around.

Grosso played for Lyon between 2007 and 2009 and has recently been coaching Frosinone in Serie B.
