Laurent Blanc may have a new face in his squad soon after Olympique Lyonnais announced that they are in negotiations to sign winger Jeffinho from Brazilian club Botafogo. Romain Faivre has become the latest player to leave the Groupama Stadium.

Lyon said in a statement on their website that Jeffinho would undergo a medical on Monday with the clubs in talks over a loan move with the option to make the deal permanent. The 23-year-old scored twice in 24 games for Botafogo in last year’s Brazilian top flight, as the Rio de Janeiro club finished 11th.

John Textor, who recently bought a controlling share in OL, is the majority owner of Botafogo.

Meanwhile Romain Faivre has departed Lyon, joining FC Lorient on loan until the end of the season. His move follows that of Karl Toko-Ekambi, who has signed for Stade Rennais FC on loan, with Tetê another attacking player who could be on his way out of the club before the January window closes.
