Much of the focus at Olympique Lyonnais is seemingly on selling players, but not entirely, as Foot Mercato report the club’s interest in Napoli’s Frank Anguissa (29).
Anguissa is a key player at Napoli and over the summer, new manager Antonio Conte blocked any potential exit for the Cameroon international, who was notably of interest to AS Monaco, who at the time were in the market for a replacement for Youssouf Fofana.
However, he stayed, and thus far this season, he has made 14 appearances in all competitions. However, could it be his final season at the club? Anguissa’s contract with Napoli is set to expire at the end of the current campaign although both he and the club have the power to extend that by triggering a clause.
Anguissa, however, wants to take his time and reflect on his future before making any decision. As a result, and contrary to reports in Italy, there are currently no concrete talks regarding an extension, according to Foot Mercato. Within this context, Juventus, Villarreal, and Lyon are all showing an interest in signing the midfielder on a free transfer. The latter’s interest comes despite financial difficulties and a provisional relegation to Ligue 2.
