L’Équipe report this morning that Lyon midfield prospect Mohamed El Arouch has expressed his desire to leave the club, with the potential arrival of João Gomes from Flamengo in particular convincing him.
The French U19 international had been hoping to break into the first team this season, but manager Laurent Blanc has not called him up for senior training given the abundance of options he has available to him in that position – although many of which, such as Romain Faivre and Houssem Aouar, appear to be heading for the exit door themselves.
The 18-year-old has told his formative he would like to leave to increase his playing time, and a number of teams in both France and Spain are keeping an eye on him, whether for a loan deal or a permanent transfer.
El Arouch is a regular for the reserves and is under contract until 2025, and notably led the team to their first French Youth Cup in 25 years last season.
