Pierre Sage's in-form Olympique Lyonnais side will be looking for their seventh straight victory in all competitions as they host a Lens side hoping to get back to winning ways.

Sunday evening's Ligue 1 Uber Eats action will see Lyon host Lens at the Groupama stadium, with the home side looking for their seventh straight victory in all competitions after beating Strasbourg on penalties (4-3) in the Coupe de France last week.

Lyon becoming 'increasingly ambitious' says Pierre Sage

Les Gones' improvement in form under manager Pierre Sage has been nothing but miraculous since his nomination as interim boss: Lyon could have the chance to lift silverware in the cup, as well as wave off earlier fears of relegation as they sit 10th in the Ligue 1 Uber Eats table. "Each match was hard-fought, with our opponents determined to win," said the 44-year-old at his pre-match press conference on Saturday. "As a team in progress, with a lot of changes, we had to build our team spirit in competitive matches. We wanted to perform well straight away, so I was comfortable with the idea that not everything was perfect. But we're becoming increasingly ambitious."

Franck Haise analyses recent performances

Meanwhile, as Lyon look upwards, Lens are looking for their first win in their last four matches in all competitions. After elimination from the Europa League against Friburg (3-2), Lens fell to Monaco at home (3-2) following a last minute goal from Takumi Minamino.

Le Sang & Or are in need of a positive result from somewhere to re-kick their season into gear. Manager Franck Haise has put down Lens' slump in form down to their efficiency in front of goal."On Sunday, we had the upper hand, as we often do in the second half. But over the last three games, we've had fifteen chances and we've only scored one goal," admitted the Frenchman, adding "That's one of the reasons for our disappointment in those three games. If we'd scored 20% of those goals, we'd have won at least two of the three games."
