Lyon launch effort to sign Georginio Rutter as Bradley Barcola replacement | OneFootball

Ligue 1 side Lyon have begun talks over the possibility of signing Leeds United’s French youth international forward player Georginio Rutter from the English Championship side, as they step up their preparations for the possibility of losing winger Bradley Barcola to PSG, according to Téléfoot.

The 21-year-old joined the Yorkshire side in the January transfer window from Hoffenheim, but has struggled to adapt to English football to date.

In attack, Lyon are also in negotiations with Ligue 2 outfit ESTAC Troyes over the possible signing of Mama Baldé. The deal is not dependent on any departure and in fact OL are seeking to sign him as an understudy to their captain Alexandre Lacazette.

Barcola has in the meantime informed Lyon that he wants to move to PSG.

Lyon’s transfer window has been hamstrung all summer long after the club failed to present an adequate budget to French football’s financial watchdog – the DNCG – back in June, resulting in a sanction in the form of being unable to spend more than they make during this window.
