Bild reports that Lyon are interested in Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Alassane Pléa, as the striker has a release clause in his contract.
Similar to Jonas Hofmann, Pléa reportedly has a release clause worth €10m in his contract which he extended last summer, this has sparked the interest of Lyon.
Pléa is a product of Lyon’s Academy and even at points played for the first team before moving to Nice. While the 30-year-old is also reportedly frustrated with the departure of Marcus Thuram, who was a good friend of Pléa at the club. Which could all be factors if the Frenchman considers leaving the club.
However, it has been reported that Pléa has agreed to stay at Gladbach this summer while sporting director Roland Virkus has also confirmed these reports.
On a goalscoring front, last season was a struggle for Pléa as Gladbach struggled as a team, but when it came to assisting his teammates the 30-year-old finished the season with 14 assists in 31 games for Gladbach.
