Lyon enquire about Liverpool’s Tyler Morton | OneFootball

Lyon have made contact with Liverpool over England U21 midfielder Tyler Morton (22), according to a report from The Times. Les Gones are reportedly interested in the 2025 U-21 Euros winner with Lee Carsley’s England. West Ham United are also monitoring the Liverpool midfielder, but the Hammers are reportedly keen to sell some of their midfielders first. Morton has entered his final contract year with Liverpool.

Lyon are in the market for a midfielder. Les Gones have sold Jordan Veretout to Al-Arabi as well as Jordan Lepenant to FC Nantes. The France U21 international midfielder was already loaned out to Les Canaris last season. Paulo Fonseca also needs to rejuvenate his midfield options, given Nemanja Matic (36) has entered his final contract year and that Corentin Tolisso will turn 31 in a couple of days. The 2018 World Cup winner was also of interest to Manchester United.

Despite their financial constraints, Lyon also need to bolster their squad as they will play in the Europa League next season.
