Olympique Lyonnais centre-forward Amin Sarr (23) is set to join Serie A side Hellas Verona on a season-long loan, according to a report this Wednesday from L’Equipe. The 23-year-old Swedish striker has been training separately from Pierre Sage’s senior Lyon squad with Les Gones not particularly open to relying on him for the current campaign. Sarr joined Lyon during the 2023 winter transfer window from Heerenveen in a €12m deal. He logged one goal and one assist in 18 games played with Lyon before spending the 2023-2024 season on loan at VfL Wolfsburg.
Sarr registered no goal contribution with the Bundesliga side. The 23-year-old will have another chance to impress with Hellas Verona. Sarr’s loan move includes an undisclosed option to buy. Sarr remains tied with Olympique Lyonnais with a contract set to expire in 2027. He was not part of the matchday squad that lost 3-0 to Stade Rennais last Sunday for Lyon’s season-opener.
