According to L’Équipe, Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette (33) was surprised by Thierry Henry’s decision to include him in his provisional squad to represent France at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The Lyon captain was not the only one surprised by the decision with OL also shocked by the decision.

Despite the surprise, Les Gones are open about the situation. The Ligue 1 club will not prevent their captain from representing France at the Olympics should he accept the call-up from Henry. Lacazette is yet to make a final decision on whether he will represent France at their home games. It would be the first time the striker has represented Les Bleus since 2017.

A summer of decisions

Representing Les Bleus at the Olympics is not the only decision that the former Arsenal striker is tasked with making this summer. With strong interest from Saudi Arabia, Lacazette is also pondering his future at his boyhood club. According to L’Équipe, the Lyon forward has not yet made a decision on his future but has a lucrative deal on the table from Al-Qadisah.
