Queens Park Rangers forward Lyndon Dykes has taken to Instagram to share his thoughts on the club’s latest Championship display.

The Hoops would have been hoping to produce a positive performance in their clash with rivals Fulham on Saturday after recently sealing victories over Birmingham City and Preston North End.

However, the Cottagers proved to be too strong for Mark Warburton’s side as they sealed a 4-1 victory in-front of their own supporters.

Aleksandar Mitrovic gave Fulham the lead in the first-half of this particular clash as he fired past goalkeeper Seny Dieng.

The Hoops then levelled proceedings following the break as Dykes netted his fifth goal of the season at Craven Cottage.

Undeterred by this minor setback, Fulham secured all three points thanks to goals from Mitrovic, Bobby Decordova-Reid and Antonee Robinson.

QPR will be looking to bounce back from this defeat when they host Blackburn Rovers at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium tomorrow.

Currently eighth in the Championship, the Hoops will move back into the play-off places if they beat Tony Mowbray’s side.

Ahead of Tuesday’s meeting with Blackburn, Dykes has taken to Instagram to offer his thoughts on the club’s performance against Fulham.

The Verdict

Whilst QPR did show glimpses of promise against Fulham, it is abundantly clear that they will need to improve defensively if they are to achieve a relative amount of success in the Championship this season.

Only Cardiff City (22) and Peterborough United (25) have conceded more goals than the Hoops (20) during the current campaign as Dieng has only managed to keep three clean-sheets in the second-tier.

In order to have the best chance of sealing victory on Tuesday, Warburton may need to turn to Dykes for inspiration after using him as a substitute against Fulham.

As well as providing for his side, the forward is currently averaging an impressive WhoScored match rating of 7.22 in the second-tier.

By delivering an eye-catching display against Blackburn, Dykes may be able to retain his place in QPR’s side for the foreseeable future.
