A clip showing Nottingham Forest forward Lyle Taylor mocking Preston North End defender Jordan Storey has gone viral on social media.
Taylor, who football fans might know as the man responsible for arguably the sport’s most ‘disrespectful’ penalty technique, appeared to accuse Storey of being a ‘baby’ during the closing stages of Saturday’s Championship clash at The City Ground.
The Montserrat international hit out at his opponent in the 83rd minute of the match for complaining to referee Simon Hooper.
The clip shows Taylor mocking Storey by theatrically pretending to cry while calling the 24-year-old some choice names in the process.
Although the incident took place right in front of the referee, substitute Taylor managed to avoid a yellow card.
But what was Taylor so annoyed about?
The 31-year-old clarified the situation via Instagram after the match, posting a photo of the incident alongside the caption: “Ref he keeps treading on me” and some laughing emojis.
Let’s check out fans’ reaction to the footage:
Taylor posted another photo of himself ruffling Storey’s hair during the match, adding: “I’m a nice person, I don’t know what the issue is.”
Forest won the match 3-0 thanks to a Lewis Grabban brace and another goal from Jack Colback.
Steve Cooper’s side subsequently leapfrogged 17th-placed Preston up to 13th position in the Championship table.
