Luton Town and Blackburn Rovers are both eyeing up a loan move for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi this summer.
Luton Town are leading Blackburn Rovers and a host of other Championship clubs in the race to sign Jesurun Rak-Sakyi on loan from Crystal Palace this summer,
That is according to a report from journalist Alan Nixon via his Patreon account, with the Eagles winger set to be the subject of much transfer speculation as he was last summer.
Rak-Sakyi endured a difficult campaign at Selhurst Park last season, with injuries hampering what could have been a potential breakout campaign for the 21-year-old.
The forward is still highly-rated though based on his previous exploits at Charlton Athletic in the 2022-23 season, where he scored 15 League One goals from out wide, and next season could be a key factor in his development as whoever snatches him up could have a real star on their hands.
Having only made six Premier League appearances last term due to injury, Rak-Sakyi will be hopeful that next year will prove more fruitful for him.
Luton Town believe they can aid the next step in his development and would be willing to take the youngster on loan for the entirety of next season.
However, their attempts to sign him won't come without challenge. This is due to Blackburn Rovers, among several other Championship clubs, seeing the 21-year-old as a suitable option for themselves, having been in the mix last summer too.
The Hatters will hope that their promotion credentials will play an important factor in a possible move. Additionally, the chance for Rak-Sakyi to work under a manager that promotes youth in Rob Edwards could be key to striking a deal.
Ultimately, the move will come down to Oliver Glasner, Crystal Palace's manager, who will have the final say, with a strong pre-season performance possibly convincing him to keep Rak-Sakyi at the club.
If Glasner allows the winger to depart Palace next season in search of first-team football, then he will become a real asset to whatever team he signs for.
Blackburn and Luton will be hoping he does, and both clubs would surely have been casting an eye over the youngster's time at Charlton Athletic as a means to understand what he can provide.
The 2022-23 season saw the Addicks finish a mediocre 10th place in League One. Rak-Sakyi was the star of that campaign though, and his performances were truly remarkable.
Featuring predominantly on the right wing where he cuts in onto his stronger left foot, he managed 15 goals and eight assists across 43 matches as he displayed why he was so well thought of in the Palace academy.
Albeit in League One, the underlying statistics only further proof of his ability, with the winger becoming known for his willingness to take on players and create chances for those around him.
If able to transfer this form into the division above, he will become a real danger for second-tier defences.
For Luton, his signing would only enhance their promotion credentials, while for Blackburn, he could elevate them from a mid-table club to one that is chasing the play-offs.
Time will tell whether he remains at Palace or makes a loan move to the division below, but you feel regular game time is needed for Rak-Sakyi right now in order to develop his craft.
