Lunin And Diaz Get 9 | Real Madrid Players Rated In Narrow Win Vs RB Leipzig

Real Madrid faced off against RB Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena earlier tonight as they looked to earn a good result on the road in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie. Los Blancos made a solid start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.
Brahim Diaz finally broke the deadlock in the 48th minute as the Madrid giants ended up earning a narrow 1-0 win away from home.
Let’s take a look at how each Real Madrid player performed during the clash against RB Leipzig.
GK: Andriy Lunin – 9/10
Lunin made a lot of important saves at the back and secured a well-deserved clean sheet tonight.
RB: Dani Carvajal – 7/10
The Spaniard performed his defensive duties well and managed to pick up an assist for setting up Diaz’s goal.
CB: Aurelian Tchouameni – 7.5/10
He gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field and was accurate with his passing.
CB: Nacho – 7/10
Nacho cleared the danger when he could and did enough to keep a clean sheet.

LB: Ferland Mendy – 7/10
Mendy was a positive influence at both ends of the field.
CM: Federico Valverde – 7/10
He anchored the midfield well and made one decent run with the ball.
CM: Toni Kroos – 7/10
Kroos earned the ball back twice and was good on the ball as well.
CM: Eduardo Camavinga – 7.5/10
He caused a few problems for the opposition defenders but didn’t do enough to register a goal.
CAM: Brahim Diaz – 9/10
Diaz made a lot of dangerous runs with the ball and managed to engineer a few meaningful chances in the final third. He scored the only goal of the contest early in the second half.
ST: Rodrygo – 6.5/10
He caught the eye at times but didn’t do enough to register a goal.
Vinicius Jr. made a few driving runs with the ball but failed to find the back of the net.
