Lukas Nmecha has been plagued with injuries since August 2023, missing 43 games across all competitions for Wolfsburg and with an expiring contract, the 26-year-old forward is unlikely to be offered a new contract beyond the summer.
The former Manchester City academy prospect has managed just 215 minutes across 11 Bundesliga games this season, scoring two goals which came in a 5-1 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach in January.
Kicker however report that if Nmecha would agree to a performance-related contract, then that is the only way that he would stay at Wolfsburg beyond the summer and even then, the likelihood that the German forward would be offered such a deal is slim.
It would see Wolfsburg enter the transfer market in the summer for reinforcements with Jonas Wind and Mohamed Amoura the only standout forwards, with Tiago Tomas providing width while Kevin Behrens’ contract also expires in the summer.
