Luka Modrić’s agent speaks out on Real Madrid future | OneFootball

The agent of Real Madrid star Luka Modrić has this weekend provided an update on his client’s future with the club.

As much, of course, comes amid long-standing speculation surrounding the plans of the Real Madrid brass for their veteran midfielder beyond the summer.

Modrić’s terms in Spain’s capital are due to come to a close this summer.

With the former Tottenham man set to turn 39 later this year, and Los Blancos well stocked in the middle of the park, it has in turn been suggested that Modrić could be given the green light to move on.

Recent weeks, however, have seen the Croatian international reemerge as an important figure in Carlo Ancelotti’s ranks, acting as a much-needed rotation option amid Real Madrid’s pursuit of a domestic and European double.

In turn, murmurs have followed that a new contract could yet be on the cards for Modrić.

Contacted by Koora, as cited by Marca, this weekend, the former Ballon d’Or winner’s representative was therefore asked for the latest on developments between his client and his long-time club.

And Valdika Lemic went on to explain that:

“So far there is nothing clear about Modric’s future with Real Madrid. Next week things will be clearer for us. Real Madrid is Modric’s home and together we will decide what is best.”
