Luka Modrić’s proposed move to Inter Milan looks to be off, with the Croatia international set to be offered a new deal at Real Madrid.
The World Cup’s best player was believed to be keen on a move to the Serie A giants, with the Nerazzurri purportedly ready to offer the midfielder an annual salary of €10m.
However, according to Marca, that has sprung Los Blancos into action, who are now ready to table an extension for Modrić with vastly increased wages.
They report that the European champions are set to give the 32-year-old an insane salary increase of €8m per season, taking his total earnings to €14m per year.
That would put Modrić on a par with Sergio Ramos, and only just behind Gareth Bale in their wage structure.
