Real Madrid and Croatia veteran Luka Modric is yet to decide what the future will hold for him after the ongoing World Cup, with his contract in the Spanish capital expiring in seven months.

Having turned 37 in September, Modric is one of the oldest players at the tournament that will surely be the last he plays for Croatia. But, despite his advanced years, he remains a key player for his nation al team as well for Real Madrid at club level.

Although tipped to retire from international football after the World Cup, it remains unclear whether he'll hang up his boots altogether, renew his contract with Real or head elsewhere in summer.

Speaking ahead of Croatia's opening match of this World Cup, a 0-0 draw with Morocco, Modric admitted that nothing has been decided just yet.

"Honestly, I feel good. I play almost everything with Real Madrid, I still feel good when I play football," he said. "I'm here at the World Cup to continue playing, to continue enjoying football. I don't think about what will happen later. I haven't made a decision about it yet, I'm here to play a good tournament and that's definitely what I have in mind."

Croatia made a disappointing start to their campaign, never looking like beating Morocco, but Modric says he and his team remain confident.

"We have faith in our chances, we have to be together like in the last few matches," he said. "We have to go game by game, we have a tough game ahead of us, but I think we can achieve a positive result."
