On Sunday, Luis SuĂĄrez did what only one man has done since the turn of the Century.

Without Lionel Messi on the pitch, the Uruguayan stepped up for Barcelona and scored a stunning hat-trick to send Real Madrid back to the capital with tails between their legs.

It was a superb display from SuĂĄrez who, in the process, netted the 26th hat-trick of his career. But which of his three goal hauls were the best?

Let’s have a look.

2013 – Liverpool vs Norwich

This was SuĂĄrez at the absolute peak of his powers with Liverpool.

Alongside Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling, the South American could do no wrong for Brendan Rodgers’ side, with this four-goal performance against Norwich (more on them later) getting better with each goal.

2016 – Barcelona vs Real Betis

SuĂĄrez helped Barcelona to a brilliant 6-2 victory over Real Betis in 2016, with his free-kick at the death the most impressive of his goals.

But what was even more amazing was that this was his third hat-trick in as many games for Barcelona – record in LaLiga.

2012 – Liverpool vs Norwich

Boy did SuĂĄrez like playing against Norwich. Of his six hat-tricks in England, three of them came against the East Anglian.

This, in 2012, was his second, with the final strike – a lob from the haflway line – going down as one of the best in Premier League history.

2018 – Barcelona vs Real Madrid

A genius penalty. A header for the ages. A deft Messi-esque finish. This was one of the Suárez’s best all-round hat-tricks and his 10th for the Blaugrana.

Those three goals at Camp Nou also took him into the top five ClĂĄsico scorers of all-time too.

2014 – Uruguay vs Chile

One of only two hat-tricks that SuĂĄrez has scored for Uruguay.

This, against Chile in 2011, came in a crucial World Cup qualifier. The biggest stage has always brought the best out of the 31-year-old.
