Luis Fuentes to leave América this summer - his probable replacement?

Undoubtedly, one of the most controversial and thought-provoking moves América made during the last transfer window was that of Luis Fuentes.

It’s not often that a club of América’s stature brings in a 33-year-old left-back on loan but Fuentes was able to put in a number of professional displays to gain the respect of the supporters.

However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, América will not be investing any more money into the player and will return him back to Xolos.

With Fuentes leaving, América will almost certainly bring back Luis Reyes from his loan spell to compete for the starting job.

The 29-year-old Reyes has done quite well at Atlético San Luis and is expected to receive many more minutes than he did during the 2019 Clausura – his last season with América.
