Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future at PSG appears uncertain following the club’s signing of Lucas Chevalier. As a result, the goalkeeper may be looking for a long-term move, with Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea among the clubs linked to him.

According to a recent report from CentreDevils, Manchester United have already held direct talks over a potential deal. Donnarumma, 26, is reportedly high on Ruben Amorim’s list of targets, with the manager said to be a big admirer.

The report notes that Donnarumma’s experience and quality could provide a significant boost for Old Trafford as Amorim works to rebuild the squad this summer. Journalist Ben Jacobs added that PSG are seeking £26 million for the goalkeeper, who has just one year left on his contract after the club opted against offering an extension.

With the arrival of Lucas Chevalier, Donnarumma’s days with the French giants are numbered and manager Luis Enrique commented on the issue involving the Italian international.

“Donnarumma is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, no doubt, and even better as a person,” Enrique said. “But this is the life of high-level footballers, I am 100 percent responsible for this difficult decision. If it were easy anyone would do it, these decisions have to do with the profile of the goalkeeper that my team needs.”

On Tuesday, Donnarumma broke his silence amid the transfer rumors with the 2025-26 season set to start on Wednesday with the UEFA Super Cup against Tottenham Hotspur.

“From my very first day of arrival, I gave everything, on and off the field, to earn my place and proudly defend the Paris Saint-Germain goal,” Donnarumma said in a statement. “Unfortunately, someone decided that I could no longer be part of this group and contribute to the team’s success. This decision leaves me both disappointed and saddened.

“I hope to once again have the chance to look the supporters at the Parc des Princes in the eyes and say goodbye to them as they deserve. If that does not happen, know that your support and affection have meant a lot to me and that I will never forget it. I will always keep in my heart the memory of the emotions lived, the magical nights, and you, who made me feel at home […]”
