Soon to be announced Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique could hand out-of-favour star Neymar a lifeline at Parc des Princes, according to SPORT.

The former Spain and Barcelona head coach is set to replace Christophe Galtier, with reports claiming he will sign for the French champions on a two-year contract with an option for a third.

Neymar has been widely tipped to leave the record Ligue 1 champions this summer, having lost the faith of the powers that be in the French capital.

The controversial forward has been linked with several clubs, including Chelsea and Barca, while interest from Saudi Arabia also gathers pace.

Al Hilal are reportedly preparing a mouth-watering annual salary package worth around €200 million, while a transfer fee of €45m is also being mooted.

Neymar’s contract with PSG runs until 2025. While a transfer fee will not be a problem for interested parties, his enormous salary demands can only be matched by the free-spending Saudis.

However, Enrique is keen to reunite with the 31-year-old at Parc des Princes after enjoying a stellar stint with the Brazilian at Barcelona, where he formed a fearsome and hugely successful attacking trio with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

Neymar is a spectacular player on his day, but the PSG hierarchy have grown tired of the player’s repeated off-field antics and were keen to offload him this summer.

However, Enrique wants to renew acquaintances with the former Santos prodigy and believes he can return the Brazil international to his best on the pitch.

Sport reports that Marco Verratti could also benefit from Enrique’s arrival, with the Italian midfield maestro linked with a PSG exit this summer.

Serie A giants Juventus and AS Roma have inquired about the player’s availability, but Enrique sees the player as a perfect fit for his tactical plans and will try to keep him at the club.
