Spain coach Luis Enrique has labelled Sergio Ramos “a unique player in history” after scoring the winner against Norway on Saturday.

The Real Madrid defender struck from twelve yards after Joshua King had cancelled out Rodrigo Moreno’s opening goal.

Ramos scored a “Panenka” penalty for the fifth time this season which left Enrique singing his praises.

“We knew we would have to suffer because Norway defend well, but we found a way,” he told TVE.

“Sergio Ramos did very well for us with his penalty. He is a unique player in history.

“We need players to step up in these moments and Sergio always has the mentality to do so.”

La Roja face Malta on Tuesday as they attempt to cement their place at the top of Group F.
