A recent report from Mundo Deportivo revealed that FC Barcelona are fearful of Paris Saint-Germain in the race for Athletic Club’s Nico Williams. Moreover, manager Luis Enrique is pushing for the capital club to secure the 22-year-old winger.

Williams’ profile has soared, particularly after his standout performance at UEFA Euro 2024, where he played a crucial role in Spain winning the competition.

According to a report from CaughtOffside last month, several top clubs are now eyeing Williams. Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain are all interested in signing him.

SPORT reports Enrique has his sights set on Williams, with both the player and his agent already familiar with PSG’s detailed offer. Barcelona are well aware of the fierce competition from Paris and Enrique is pressing sporting advisor Luis Campos to ensure Williams accepts PSG’s offer.

Catalunya Ràdio recently reported that Barcelona and Williams have agreed to personal terms on a contract. However, PSG recently offered double, which could change the whole situation.

Last season, Williams made 37 appearances, scoring eight goals and 19 assists. The winger also helped Athletic Club win the 2024 Copa del Rey trophy.
