The Spanish national team is in for something of a culture shock under new boss Luis Enrique.

Having enjoyed a more relaxed atmosphere with Julen Lopetegui, the Spain players will have to adjust quickly as Enrique looks to instil more discipline under his watch, Marca report.

Players on national team duty will no longer be given free afternoons when the team are at their Madrid base.

Previously, Spain players had been known to meet with friends or family, or just to enjoy an afternoon in the city centre. They will now be expected to keep each other company after training and eating lunch.

When at lunch and dinner, there will be no mobile phones, a policy far removed from the more chilled atmosphere under Lopetegui.

Enrique is also making sure Spain will spend less time in Madrid, which was previously used as a pit-stop between games even when Spain’s home matches were played elsewhere.

Instead of returning to the capital after facing England at Wembley on Saturday, Spain will fly directly to Elche, where they host Croatia on Tuesday.
