He almost had the perfect introduction. Luis Díaz celebrated his debut in an FC Bayern shirt on Saturday in the 2-1 preseason friendly win against Olympique Lyon. The new signing for the record champions came on as a second-half substitute and had the chance to make it 1-0 with his first action, but Lyon goalkeeper Rémy Descamps denied him – as he did another opportunity in the 67th minute. Overall, the 28-year-old Colombian put in a strong performance and definitely left Bayern fans wanting more.
“I feel very comfortable, I'm happy to be here and to have played my first game,” said Díaz in an interview with fcbayern.com after the match. "We put in a good performance and were in control of the game. I had some good chances. Unfortunately I couldn't score, but I hope I can score in the next game. My goal is to help the team and win titles," continued the winger.

His teammates also sang his praises. "He did a great job today, he's hungry and eager,” said Harry Kane. “You can tell he's happy to be here. He plays with a smile on his face. Today you could see how effective he is in the final third. We're going to need him this season, so I'm delighted he's here.” The team hope Díaz should be able to familiarise himself with his new surroundings as quickly as possible. He will be back on the pitch with his new colleagues as early as next Thursday, to the delight of many Bayern fans, as the Munich side take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Telekom Cup next week.
