Liverpool are set to be without winger Luiz Díaz until after the World Cup.

Reliable journalists Paul Joyce of the Times and the Mirror’s David Maddock are reporting that the Colombian is set for an extended period on the sidelines with a knee injury he picked up in the 3-2 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.

The 25-year-old had to be withdrawn in the first half at the Emirates after sustaining a knock with head coach Jürgen Klopp stating post-match that it ‘didn’t look good’.

One positive update for the Reds is that Díaz reportedly doesn’t require surgery and looks to have avoided picking up an ACL injury.

Díaz has three goals and two assists in his eight Premier League appearances so far this season.
