Lucy Ashworth-Clifford becomes latest player to commit future to Celtic | OneFootball

We are delighted to announce that Lucy Ashworth-Clifford is the latest player to commit her future to Celtic after putting pen to paper on a one-year extension with the Ghirls.

The left-sided player initially joined the Hoops in the summer of 2022, signing from English side Lewes after spending time with both Manchester clubs as well as having a spell in America.

Ashworth-Clifford made a bright start to life with Celtic, scoring on just her second appearance in green and white.

After making such a brilliant contribution at the beginning of her time in Glasgow, the 24-year-old unfortunately suffered a long-term injury which kept her out for around 13 months.

However, at the beginning of 2024, she made her return to action against Montrose and hasn’t looked back since.

The midfielder has been a key player since coming back into the side, and has played a major role under Elena Sadiku in recent weeks.

Opening the scoring at Celtic Park, Ashworth-Clifford was back among the goals for the Ghirls and will be hoping to add more after signing an extension until the summer of 2025.
