Lucien Favre has expressed his delight at keeping Jadon Sancho at Borussia Dortmund this season.
Sancho has been the subject of public interest from Manchester United throughout the summer but a deal has yet to be struck between the two clubs.
The 20-year-old looks set to stay at the Westfalenstadion for the 2020/21 campaign.
Dortmund head coach Favre has reaffirmed this stance, speaking to Keystone-SDA: “We need him, no question.
“Everyone was happy that he stayed. We don’t need to talk long about its qualities – they are enormous.
“He scores and sets up a lot of goals and can often make all the difference.
“But there are some details that Sancho needs to improve. That is quite normal for a 20-year-old.”
Sancho scored 17 goals and provided 17 assists last season, and could play some part in Dortmund’s DFB-Pokal tie with MSV Duisburg on Monday.
