Lucas Vazquez will leave Real Madrid when his contract expires on June 30, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Madrid have decided not to offer the Spaniard a new contract after securing a deal for Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer.
However, Vazquez could participate in the Club World Cup on a short-term deal if Los Blancos fail to bring in the English defender early.
The Spanish giants are keen on having Alexander-Arnold for the expanded tournament, but they have yet to submit an offer to Liverpool.
Despite playing a reduced role over the last few years, Vazquez has been part of the furniture at the Santiago Bernabeu, winning a plethora of trophies.
The Saudi Pro League has been touted as the Spaniard’s next destination.
As for Madrid, Alexander-Arnold and Carvajal will be the right-backs next season.
Xabi Alonso, who will take over as Madrid’s manager, is also looking to strengthen the left-back position.
Ferland Mendy has been highly inconsistent this season, while his deputy Fran Garcia hasn’t shown he can play at the highest level.
Alonso wants to bring Alejandro Grimaldo from Bayer Leverkusen to Madrid, having worked with him over the past couple of years.
Los Blancos have also shortlisted Benfica’s Alvaro Carreras, AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez and Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez as potential left-back targets.
Midfielder Luka Modric’s future is also up in the air, with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
