Former Lyon midfielder Lucas Tousart is on the verge of moving across Berlin from Hertha to Union, following Hertha’s relegation at the end of last season, as reported by Foot Mercato.
Capital derby rivals Union enjoyed a much stronger Bundesliga season, finishing fourth and qualifying for the Champions League group stages, having been in contention at the top of the table earlier in the campaign.
Despite interest from Napoli as well, Union have already made a concrete offer to the player, and talks are ongoing over a contract offer of three years, with an option for an additional fourth year.
Meanwhile, L’Équipe report that the fee will be in the region of €7m, including bonuses that involve a significant resale percentage. The deal is expected to be concluded soon without any issues. The 26-year-old former France under-21 international Tousart played 96 times for Hertha, contributing nine goals and five assists for the struggling side.
