That’s it. Football is officially completed.

Goals from Matthijs De Ligt and Hakim Ziyech had given Ajax what seemed an unassailable lead, only for Lucas Moura to net two in four minutes just after the break.

Spurs then pushed forward in the final minutes, and got their third in the fifth minute of injury time to send them to Madrid.

The Johan Cruyff Arena was buzzing before kick off but didn’t take long for the decibels to rise even further.

A corner from the right-hand side found De Ligt, who rose above his marker and headed in the most important goal of his young career so far after just five minutes.

That early setback didn’t seem to rattle Spurs with the away side pushing forward at every opportunity and trying to catch Erik ten Hag’s side on the break.

That’s exactly what they did do on 23 minutes, but all that was lacking was a finish.

A brilliant pass from Dele Alli found Heung-min Son, but the South Korean could only fire his effort into the arms of Andre Onana.

And that miss would come back to haunt the north London side on 36 minutes.

A cut-back from Dusan Tadic found Ziyech on the left edge of the area, who then rifled in a sensational effort past Hugo Lloris and into the far right-hand corner of the net.

After the break, the hosts controlled possession as they did in the opening 45, but this time Mauricio Pochettino’s men decided to bring their shooting boots.

A quick break from Spurs saw Lucas Moura burst into the area, before slotting under Onana with a decent finish.

2-1 on the night, 3-1 on aggregate, and the game as on.

And boy was it on.

Because just a few minutes later, Lucas Moura was there again, capitalising on a loose ball, to net an equaliser.

The momentum had swung completely in Tottenham’s favour now, with this young Ajax outfit showing, for the first time, their inexperience.

And right in the final seconds of the match, Lucas Moura was there again to stab past Onana send Tottenham, amazingly, into the Champions League final.
