Bayern Munich defender Lucas Hernández handed his side a big boost by training with the side as normal on Wednesday.

Injuries have wreaked havoc on the 24-year-old for much of the past season and a half, with Lucas playing just 27 times in that 18-month span.

He returned to the Bayern starting line-up for the first time since February during Saturday evening’s thrashing of Fortuna Düsseldorf.

However, a muscle issue in the first half saw him replaced at the interval and he trained alone on Tuesday, leading to further concerns about his fitness.

But it seems that was just a precaution as Sky report that he was part of the group session once more today, training at full intensity.

It isn’t the only piece of good news on the injury front to emerge from Sabener Straße this week.

Key midfielder Thiago returned to full training too on Tuesday, having missed Bayern’s last three games with a groin problem.

Both men are now in line to feature this weekend against Bayer Leverkusen.
