Lucas Chevalier (23) has resumed pre-season training with Lille OSC, but the France international’s future may hinge on Gianluigi Donnarumma’s situation at Paris Saint-Germain.
According to a report from L’Équipe, Chevalier is not actively seeking a move. However, PSG are monitoring his status closely as Donnarumma enters the final year of his contract without having signed an extension.
Sporting advisor Luis Campos, who oversaw Chevalier’s early development during his time at Lille, is a long-time admirer. Should Donnarumma depart this summer, Chevalier is considered a serious candidate to replace him in Paris.
While Lille are not actively looking to sell, a significant offer – thought to be around €40m – could shift the stance of president Olivier Létang. The northern club have already recruited Belgian goalkeeper Arnaud Bodart (27), but the drop-off from Chevalier is considerable.
Chevalier is not short of interest. He has already turned down approaches from Bournemouth and another Premier League side, unwilling to take risks ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Capped at senior level but yet to make his debut for France, he is currently viewed as Mike Maignan’s backup.
Lille have yet to open talks over a contract renewal, and while there is no tension between player and club, his future remains closely tied to developments in the capital.GFFN | George Boxall
