Former Fiorentina and Palermo striker Luca Toni commented on Inter’s disappointing 1-1 draw against Lecce yesterday in an interview with Italian broadcaster RAI 2.

“Antonio Conte was angry in his post-match interview because he knew Inter had dropped two important points,” Toni said.

“If he wants to aim for the Scudetto he has to go to Lecce and win.”

Toni then gave credit to the Nerazzurri’s opponents Lecce as well as touching on Inter’s transfer market moves.

“Congratulations to the Giallorossi and Liverani who played a great game. Conte is expecting something from the transfer market, above all midfielders with an eye for goal.”

The Nerazzurri are still second in the league table after 20 games, one point ahead of third-placed Lazio. However, the Biancocelesti have a game in hand and could overtake Conte’s side if they win it.

Inter won their first meeting against Lecce 4-0 earlier this season at home but struggled to replicate the performance yesterday.
