The Paris Saint-Germain midfield could receive a boost this summer transfer window, and FC Barcelona standout Gavi is regularly a name in the rumor mill. However, one expert sees this file as challenging for the Parisians to complete.

PSG are currently in the UEFA Champions League semifinal, where they’ll face Borussia Dortmund. Nonetheless, the capital club need to have an eye on next season despite this success, and improving the midfield appears to be high on the list.

Over the last few months, various players have been identified that the Ligue 1 giants could consider to bolster the midfield. Journalist Ben Jacobs provided an update on Gavi, one player the French side could land. PSG have recently landed several players from Barcelona, and the midfielder could be the latest.

“In midfield, [PSG] would also love to sign Gavi from Barcelona, but there is low confidence that’s possible,” Jacobs wrote in his column for CaughtOffside. “Gavi is seen as a future Barcelona captain.”

PSG will have money to spend this summer if Kylian Mbappé does leave for Real Madrid. If the Parisians do reach the Champions League final, the project with Luis Enrique should become more enticing to players this summer.
