West Ham Chairman David Sullivan is to take on the transfer negotiations this summer.
It has been reported by Gonzo on Claret & Hugh, that that Sullivan has decided to not appoint a new Director of Football, which had been expected following the release of Tim Steidten as the clubs Technical Director.
It appears that Sullivan has lost confidence in that particular position when it comes to West Ham, and therefore he will be taking the lead on negotiations this summer, which is expected to be busy as the club eye a significant squad overhaul to align with the vision of Graham Potter.
This has been further clarified by ExWHUEmployee, who has advised that Graham Potter and Kyle Macaulay will take on the roles of identifying the players they want to bring to east London.
“David Sullivan has decided to not appoint a Director of Football,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Podcast. “Following the release of Steiden, it appears Sullivan has grown tired of that particular role and feels it doesn’t offer value for money.
“It’s therefore understood that Graham Potter and Kyle Macaulay will be in charge of identifying the players that they want to bring to east London and Sullivan will then be tasked to get the deals over the line.”
