Lossl: The relaxed approach of Ancelotti at Everton

Jonas Lossl has revealed how Carlo Ancelotti surprised Everton's players after they blew a 2-0 lead against Newcastle United.

In January 2020, Lössl was on the bench and watched the Everton team-mates concede two goals in injury-time against Newcastle.

In the locker room afterwards, the Danish goalkeeper expected then Everton manager Ancelotti to tear into the players, but the Italian took a different tact.

Lossl recalled: "He comes in so cold and calm and says: 'Boys, this could be much worse. I once lost a Champions League final where I was ahead 3-0 at the break'.

"This is some sh**, it's not 'not good enough, and you will never do that again'. But take it easy, because now you have learned something.

"We will continue playing next time."
