“The first leg result should not influence how we approach tomorrow’s match,” said Pellegrini. “We must enter the pitch as we entered the pitch at San Siro, thinking that we are at 0-0, as they say. This is the best way to play this game.

“We played an excellent match in Milan but on many occasions we could have done better, this is what we will try to do tomorrow, in front of our fans.”

“In recent years I think I have grown from many points of view, we often ended up playing the return leg with the need to come back and give something extra on the pitch, this helped us a lot in our development.”

“Milan have a lot of strong players, they are a great team, we know we did something exceptional in the first leg, now is the moment when things count and we want to respond on the pitch.”

“De Rossi is trying to give me more freedom in the midfield. He gives me directions but tells me to feel free to find the space I need, he doesn’t set limits for me. This definitely helps me, because it’s something I really like doing, I feel very comfortable with him.”

“In my opinion the team has improved compared to last year, when I say team I am referring to everyone, not just eleven players. The level of training is very high, I feel confident, when I look around I am very happy to share the pitch with players and people like them. I think Roma is on the right path.”
