Lorenzo Lucca nets first Napoli goal in pre-season friendly win | OneFootball

Lorenzo Lucca scored his first in Napoli colours as Antonio Conte’s side beat Serie B side Catanzaro 2-1 in a pre-season friendly. Napoli had lost their previous friendly 2-0 to Arezzo, another Serie B side but just had too much firepower in this encounter.

Lucca who moved from Udinese earlier this window, won and converted a penalty in the first half. This was preceded by a goal from Giacomo Raspadori, who is widely expected to leave the club. The first half lineup was a strong one from Napoli, full of starters. This could be an indication that Conte sees him as the starting striker over Romelu Lukaku but it is too soon to make any real assumptions.

There were quite a few of Napoli’s new faces in action. Other than Lucca, winger Noa Lang (signed from PSV), Sam Beukema (from Bologna) and Kevin De Bruyne (free agent), all started the game too. An exciting season awaits the reigning Scudetto winners.
