Newcastle United will entertain AC Milan at St. James’ Park this Wednesday night as they look to secure a victory at home in the UEFA Champions League. The Magpies suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur recently which has drained their confidence ahead of this game.

Eddie Howe will opt for a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to name his strongest available team for this game. Sean Longstaff could get a chance to play from the start while Lewis Miley makes way for him and drops to the bench.

4-3-3 Newcastle United Predicted Lineup To Face AC Milan

Defence

Martin Dubravka will function in between the sticks for Newcastle after conceding four goals in his last appearance. Fabian Schar will get another chance to play alongside Jamaal Lascelles at the heart of Howe’s defence as they try to keep the AC Milan attackers frustrated throughout the 90 minutes.

Kieran Trippier will be a nailed-on starter at right-back while Tino Livramento hopes to prove his worth on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will have to perform their defensive duties well and could get the freedom to express themselves in the opponent’s half.

Paul Dummett and Emil Krafth will be available for selection on the bench as they provide cover for the defensive positions.

Midfield

Joelinton, Bruno Guimaraes and Sean Longstaff will make up Newcastle’s midfield three as they try to dictate the tempo of the game at the centre of the park. All three of them need to be at their best if the Magpies are to secure all three points from this home clash in midweek.

Lewis Miley will be named on the bench as he waits for his opportunity to impress as a second-half substitute if required.

Attack

Anthony Gordon would have to give a good account of himself on the left flank while Miguel Almiron tries to weave his magic from the right wing. Alexander Isak will once again spearhead Howe’s attack down the middle. He has to find a way to threaten the AC Milan goal during the 90 minutes.

Callum Wilson will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the final quarter if needed.
