News emerged earlier today about the likelihood of AC Milan parting with the Sporting Director Antonio D’Ottavio, and a replacement may arrive shortly.
The news about D’Ottavio’s exit is seemingly imminent, with multiple outlets confirming that the Director is set to leave the club, and the issues with Ibrahimovic are another reason being cited for his departure.
With this news, Daniele Longo also reports that a new director may be appointed shortly, and states in another tweet that Alberto Carraro and Dario Audasio are two candidates who are ‘strong’ with the club moving towards an ‘internal solution’.
Given the split between Milan and D’Ottavio coming as a result of disagreements, it is possible that Ibrahimovic would prefer to work with someone already at the club, given he knows their way of acting already, rather than taking a potential risk on someone new.
Carraro currently works as a ‘sports secretary’ with the Rossoneri and specialised in sports management in his master’s degree. Audasio’s path is also largely similar, despite taking a Sports law master’s degree, now he works as a ‘sports secretary’ as well, however, he has previously been a sporting director and has the qualification required, obtained by the FIGC in 2017.
