Manchester City came storming out of the gates against Manchester United as two stars in light blue scored their first derby goals.
Phil Foden, starting a move on the right-hand side, continued his run to sweep home Bernardo Silva’s low cross from the left in delicious fashion.
That goal was the 22-year-old’s first goal in the Manchester derby in his eighth appearance.
One player that wasn’t going to be kept quiet for that long in the fixture was, you’ve guessed it, Erling Haaland.
The Norway international doubled City’s lead with a powerful header from a corner before, just a matter of minutes later, used his sheer athleticism to get on the end of Kevin De Bruyne’s cross to add his second and City’s third.
Both players would go on to complete hat-tricks for Manchester City and they demolished their Manchester rivals. What a day for two boyhood City fans.
