Long term injury absence due for Liverpool training return this week
Anfield Watch
Harvey Elliott is due back for Liverpool training this week after a long lay-off following his ankle injury.
The young midfielder started off this season very well indeed, with him building on his loan at Blackburn Rovers last season with some good performances in the Liverpool first team.
However, a nasty ankle injury was sustained at Leeds United and the player has been recovering and rehabilitating ever since.
However, the months-long wait for his return is nearly over, with it reported over the weekend by Dominic King for the Daily Mail that he is due back this week in training.
This is great news for Liverpool and for the player himself.
He has had it really tough this season in terms of the injury setbacks that he has been handed but it's certainly good to see that he is on the mend and stepping up his recovery.
He won't be playing just yet as he needs to build up sharpness but being back in training and amongst the senior squad is going to only be a help for him.
