Crystal Palace keen on loan move for Kyle Walker-Peters

Kyle Walker-Peters seems set for a loan move in the January window, according to the Sun. The 22-year-old has featured in four games for Tottenham this season but hasn’t played for us since the Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Colchester United.

Walker-Peters started the season as our first-choice right-back but Spurs have tried Davinson Sanchez, Moussa Sissoko and Serge Aurier in that position too.

The report claims that Crystal Palace are keen on the 22-year-old Englishman, and it will be interesting to see if we let him leave.

A questionable call from Tottenham?

Tottenham are already light on recognised right-backs after failing to replace Kieran Trippier. The Englishman has done a great job at Atletico Madrid and has been recalled by Gareth Southgate for the national side.

Letting Walker-Peters go would leave Aurier as the only natural right-back at the club while Juan Foyth can also play in that position.

However, Aurier has been inconsistent since his arrival at Tottenham and the Ivorian has his injury problems too. Palace could offer Walker-Peters regular games but we shouldn’t let him leave unless a replacement is in store.

Tottenham’s defence has been a cause for concern this season and we have shipped 10 goals in our last two games.
