London City Lionesses announce appointment of Prêcheur as head coach

London City Lionesses have announced the appointment of Frenchman Jocelyn Prêcheur as their new head coach on a three-year deal.

The Pride announced the news to the media in an official club event in London this afternoon.

The 42-year-old replaces former London City Lionesses caretaker boss Remi Allen, who left the club in May upon the expiry of her short-term contract. Whilst with the club, Allen opened her coaching career with three consecutive wins, which helped London City Lionesses to secure eighth-place in the Barclays Women’s Championship table.

New boss Prêcheur joins London City Lionesses after spending one season coaching French top flight club Paris Saint-Germain. He led the club to the UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-finals and won the Coupe de France Féminine.

After being appointed London City Lionesses head coach, Prêcheur said “Since I met Michele [Kang] last season, I have admired her vision and dedication to the women’s game.

“The high-performance culture of winning that she is building across her teams was a key part in my decision to join London City.

“I can’t wait to get started next week and meet the players and team staff.”

London City Lionesses will be aiming for a more successful season in 2024/2025 and Prêcheur’s experience, along with owner Kang’s leadership, should give The Pride some of the tools that they need to become a high-performing club.
