Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has revealed that Ruben Loftus-Cheek is nearing a return to first-team training.
The England international midfielder has been out for over seven months after picking up an achilles injury in a friendly before the Europa League final against Arsenal in May.
But the 23-year-old appears to close to a return to action, with Lampard revealing he is building up his fitness by training with the club’s Under 16s side!
In his press conference, Lampard talked about Loftus-Cheek’s road to recovery:
“There’s a different look on Ruben’s face. He is more smiley and happy.
“He’s integrating more towards us which is great news.”
