Tottenham Hotspur faced off against Leeds United at Elland Road earlier today as they hoped to secure maximum points on the road. Spurs made a poor start to the game as they conceded the opening goal in the 13th minute when Stuart Dallas scored with an emphatic finish. However, Spurs got themselves level just 12 minutes later when Heung-min Son found the back of the net with a tidy finish. Patrick Bamford got his name on the scoresheet in the 42nd minute to give Leeds a 2-1 lead at half-time.
Rodrigo put daylight between the two sides by adding another goal in the 84th minute as the North London outfit ended up losing the contest by a 3-1 scoreline away at West Yorkshire.
Let’s take a look at how each Tottenham player performed during the match against the Whites.
The French keeper made some important saves during the game but won’t be pleased after conceding three goals today.
Aurier was strong in the air and made some important defensive contributions for his side. However, he offered very little going forward.
The Belgian centre-back cleared his lines when needed but struggled to keep the Leeds attackers quiet during the game. It was quite an average display from him defensively.
He pulled off a couple of interceptions but will be disappointed after letting in three goals over the 90 minutes.
The Spaniard was far from convincing at the back and failed to make an impact in the Whites half.
The Argentine playmaker got stuck in with a few tackles and made two good opportunities for his teammates to score.
He sensed the danger quickly to win possession back quite a few times but struggled to be inventive with his passes in the attacking third.
The Welsh winger had to track back and defend a lot. He made two encouraging runs down the right flank but never got a sniff at goal.
He was always looking to create chances for others around him and picked up a good assist for setting up Son’s goal.
The South Korean international was a constant menace for the Leeds centre-backs and scored the all-important equalizer in the first half.
The English centre-forward made a couple of decent chances but lacked the cutting edge in the final third.
He had a couple of shots but didn’t do enough to get himself a goal.
The Brazilian speedster had a couple of bright moments but never looked like he had a goal in him.
He added some energy to Tottenham’s midfield.
