With a 1-1 draw at Arka Gdynia, ŁKS Łódź confirmed their promotion back to the Ekstraklasa after a three-year absence. The point gained put them six clear of third-placed Wisła Kraków, with the Biała Gwiazda no longer able to usurp them due to their head-to-head record.

Mateusz Kowalczyk’s 84th minute goal equalised Arka’s first-half opener, and earned ŁKS the point they needed to secure their top-flight status for next season.

Kazimierz Moskal’s side have dominated the spring round, lending to their historical nickname of the Rycerze Wiosny – The Spring Knights. They topped the 1 Liga after a 2-1 defeat of Odra Opole on 5 November, and have remained there ever since. The second tier title could be confirmed on Saturday evening, with a game to spare, should second placed Ruch Chorzów fail to beat GKS Katowice.

The return of ŁKS to the top-flight means that the 2023/24 season feature both Łódź clubs – ŁKS and Widzew – for the first time since 2011/12. In the following seasons, both were demoted to the lower reaches of the Polish Football pyramid due to their financial problems, and only met in the lower leagues.
