Livingston v Celtic – team news, kick off time and where to watch

Celtic face Livingston today in the first away game with supporters present in 564 days. The last outing in which the Celtic fans were able to visit an away game was a 2-2 draw at the Tony Macaroni Arena. Tom Rogic scored a late goal that day to rescue a point to help push Celtic towards 9IAR. However, a lot has changed in the time since then and Celtic are looking to bounce back to the title under Ange Postecoglou. To do that, however, Celtic must win away to the West Lothian side, something that we have not done since they were promoted in 2018.

Team News

Celtic fielded a threadbare side in Seville against Real Betis and we’re narrowly beaten 4-3 by the La Liga outfit. Although, for today’s game, Postecoglou will be able to welcome Liel Abada, Callum McGregor and Giorgos Giakoumakis who missed the game.

McGregor missed the game as a precaution after picking up a knock and the manager may want to bring his captain back into the Starting XI. Although, if he wants to take his time with the skipper, James McCarthy is ready to go and make his mark for Celtic. Ismaila Soro was criticised at times in the Europa League defeat and Celtic could certainly use another fit option in the middle of the park – especially with the amount of games coming up.

Meanwhile, fans could see the first appearance of Giakoumakis. The Greek striker is yet to feature but the manager said that he expects him to play today and if not, then Thursday for definite. Albian Ajeti had scored three goals in two games and will retain his place for the game against Livi.

Mikey Johnston could make his comeback after a few months out injured. The winger was pictured training before the trip to Spain but with James Forrest nearing his return from injury, another wide option would be most pleasing.

Kick Off Time

The game will kick off at 3pm (Celtic Park time).

Where to Watch

There will be over 7000 Celtic fans in attendance but for those that aren’t able to go, they will be able to buy a PPV stream from the home side for £20.
